Technical Specialist – Education in Emergencies

The Opportunity 

The Technical Specialist - Education in Emergency (EiE) plays a critical role in the effective execution of donor-funded projects in Cox's Bazar. Responsible for overseeing technical aspects, conducting frequent field visits, and providing essential training, this position ensures the seamless implementation of education programs. The Specialist collaborates closely with partners, offering day-to-day oversight of projects, facilitating coordination between Save the Children International (SCI) and implementing partners. Moreover, the role extends to supporting resource mobilization efforts, actively engaging in proposal development, and maintaining coordination with various departments within SCI for integrated project proposals and donor reports. With a focus on program quality, compliance, and timely delivery, the Technical Specialist fosters innovation and knowledge generation, contributing to the continuous improvement of education initiatives. Additionally, representing SCI at government offices, PNGOs, and other stakeholders, and monitoring education activities in line with sector guidelines, are key responsibilities aimed at ensuring project success and organizational sustainability.

Qualifications and Experience

•   At least 5 years of relevant working experience in development or humanitarian setting, preferably in Education and Education in Emergency (EiE) program working experience, in emergency response experience will be given priorities.
•   Advanced knowledge of pedagogy, material development, conducting training and module development, Govt. Pre-primary curriculum, Education policy. A clear understanding of the Rohingya response situation of the country, education in emergency, technology-based education, formal and non-formal Education theories and practices etc.
•   Excellent attention to detail and Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people.
•   Proven experience in computer operation in MS Office especially PowerPoint presentation preparation skills.
•   Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills in English, with experience interacting with multicultural teams.
•   Master’s Degree, preferably in Education/Social Science/Development Studies and other relevant faculties.
