National Disaster Preparedness Day celebrated in Bangladesh

The National Disaster Preparedness Day (NDPD) was observed across the country on March 10, 2017 with emphasis on expediting disaster preparedness programmes among the people and making them well equipped for lowering the risk of natural calamities.

Youth conference held in Barisal

A two-day Youth Conference on Climate Change was organized in Barisal between the dates 11/02/17 and 12/02/17. Lawmaker Jebunnesa Afroz inaugurated the conference being held for the first time in the country. Barisal Divisional Commissioner's Office, Department of Environment (DoE), and UNICEF jointly organised the programme.

Youth leads cleanliness campaign on Eid ul Adha

Urban Community volunteer of Ward-6, Savar Municipality, under the ‘Proyash-Urban Risk Reduction Project’ gathered together on 8th September with an aim to raise the public awareness to keep the ward clean during Eid-ul-Adha. After inauguration of the campaign by the Ward-6 Counselor, Al-haz Abdus Sattar at the his office premises, volunteers wearing same t-shirts and caps brought out a festive procession carrying placards, festoons and banners with slogans for cleanliness. It paraded different streets of the ward. Representatives from Save the Children, partner organization SEEP and ward community people also joined along with the volunteers. The cleanness campaign continued till 14 September with support from the Savar Municipality.
