Empowering Girls through ICT in Education (EGE)

Save the Children launched it's "The Empowering Girls through Education (EGE)" project on 30 October 2019. Hon’ble State Minister of Primary and Mass Education, Mr. Md. Zakir Hossain, MP was present as the Chief Guest while Executive director of CAMPE, Rasheda K. Choudhury chaired the event.

EGE project is designed to support the Government’s Primary Education Development Plan for quality education and to address directly the obstacles for transition of girl students from primary to secondary school. The project target is 8,738 grade IV and V girl students of 120 government primary schools in Kurigram and Jamalpur district. It will work to enhance competencies in Bangla, English and Mathematics through interactive and child friendly e-contents accessed via tablets. The project will also focus on building awareness of parents, local communities, local government and policy makers on the advantages of girls’ education and disadvantages of early marriage. The project is running with the strategic support of Save the Children Denmark with funding from Hempel Foundation, Denmark.  Friendship and CAMPE will work with SCIinBD as the implementation and advocacy partners.
