Closing workshop of IPEP
Child Protection program of Save the Children organized a half day long national level closing workshop on Inclusive Protection and Empowerment Project for Children with Disabilities (IPEP) in Dhaka on July 19, 2017. A total of 60 participants including representatives of Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh, senior officials from Department of Social Services under Ministry of Social Welfare, representatives of international and local NGOs attended the workshop.
Laila Khondkar, Director of Child Rights Governance and Child Protection delivered welcome speech and provided an introduction of the project. There was a presentation on the learning of the project by IPEP team. This was followed by a session on testimony by the program participants where a girl with disability, a mother of a child with disability and a teacher who is a member of Community Based Child Protection Committee (CBCPC) shared their experiences, thoughts and recommendations regarding the project. It was a lively discussion session where participants asked different questions for more information as well as made valuable suggestions for the future interventions. The event was ended with closing remarks and vote of thanks by Mr. Khandaker Jahurul Alam-Executive Director of Center for Services and Information on Disability (CSID), which is one of the implementing partner organizations.
