Climate resilient fisheries are crucial for nutrition security in Sylhet

“If implemented successfully, families including mother and children of Sylhet and Moulavibazar districts will be benefitted from climate resilient aquaculture and their overall nutrition status will be improved” said Syed Arif Azad, Director General of Department of Fisheries (DoF) while giving the introductory remarks as a chief guest during a planning and collaboration workshop between Save the Children led Suchana program and Department of Fisheries. The workshop held on November 27, 2017 at the conference of Matsaya bhaban, Dhaka. Mr. Sajedul Hasan, Chief of Party of Suchana program has presented a brief overview of the program and discussed with senior officials of Department of Fisheries to identify key areas of collaboration and planning for future. Recently a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock and the Suchana program, to work jointly on nutrition security.
